There are many reasons to install black granite worktops in a kitchen. One good reason is the durability of granite, its resistance to damage. This may be the only way to ensure that the black granite worktops purchased are authentic, other than hiring a petrologist to accompany one to the worktop store. Otherwise, the faux black granite worktops one buys will become evident when the color begins to fade after a few cleanings, and refinishing worktops is a very costly endeavor indeed.
It would be wisest to buy directly from a manufacturer that owns the quarry from which they mine their wares in order to assure oneself that the black granite worktops they buy are the genuine article. It is worth the effort, because the look and reliability of true black granite will bring a touch of elegance and taste to any kitchen design scheme, and will provide decades of unblemished service.
