Chris and the kids...
while the kids attempt to "save" her from him..
It was very entertaining!
For the record: Chris babysat 8 children while us moms had a night out. Kudos to the best husband and daddy in the whole world!! He should definitely win an award for that. He even fed them all supper. What a guy - am I lucky or what!

Birthday Blues...
I know it's been forever since I blogged, but I just have to share my birthday with you. First let me tell you how unexcited I've been about the prospect of turning 30. Ug. My girls know (as well as everyone else that knows me) that I have been dreading this day. So, to start my day, I tell my girls that it is now official, "mommy's 30" (in a depressing tone of course). Ellie my youngest, comes to me first and hugs me and pats my back, and says, "I didn't want you to be 30 either mom." (Like as if this was a huge consolation. LOL - very cute though) Then Kayle, my oldest, hugs me and says in a depressing and solemn tone, "happy birhtday mom, i love you" - very sweet. But the hilarity of it was, you would think we had a funeral to attend with how solemn and droopy they were for me. It really gave me the giggles at how adorable and sincere they were, so my day started off well (despite the obvious).
Then I had to go to work, but it was fun. After work was my doctor's appointment, where I was convinced I'd have to have another mole biopsied. Thank God, the doctor is convinced it is a benign mole and does not need to be removed. After that relief, my husband took me out to a movie and dinner at Red Lobster (yummy). We had a great time - and it was really fun having a date with my husband without the kids for a change. I really do like my husband - he's a great date!
So, we picked up the kids, and I'm tucking them in to bed. Me, thinking all my birthday excitement is over - left with only the cold reality that I am yet another year older. And no longer in my twenties. Now left with 10 years of 30's *sigh* - don't you have to act like an adult at that stage? Anyway, I'm putting Kayle to bed, and I hug and kiss her and tell her thank you for helping me to have a really fun birthday, even though I'm 30 now. She very seriously looked me in the eyes, and said "Don't worry mom. You won't be 30 for long. Pretty soon you'll be 31!" OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The laughter that came rolling out of me at that moment overcame me and I realized, that my children are an awsome gift!! I'll be any age in the world as long as I have those adorable entertaining kids that make me laugh so hard. How can being 30 be so bad when you have so many little blessings around you to brighten and cheer each day with nothing more than their personalities?
Truly, I am blessed and aside from my salvation, my family is the greatest gift on earth. I could not ask for more than that. No matter what age I am. I'm so thankful that God was willing to allow me to have such a great day despite my sour attitude about being another year older.

Baptist History and other stuff
Wow. What a week we've been having. We have a guest speaker here at our church and he has been giving us so much information on Baptist History. It is amazing to me how God has preserved his church through all these centuries. And then especially when you get into American Baptist History - WOW - there is so much I did not know, and so much that our public schools left out of our American History classes. I shouldn't be so amazed at how God as worked in our country, because ya know, He is God - but I confess, I am in awe over the magnitude of how he used men and His church to carry out His will. If any of you all are interested in the CD's of his teaching, they are $10 for the set - just email me and let me know. It is truly fascinating. He also has some reading material - books he's written about our Baptist Heritage (those are $16 for the set of 3 books)
Next weekend we get to go to a family reunion of sorts. It's more just a big party that the whole family is invited to (same thing right?) - but I'm really looking forward to it. I think it's going to be a blast. The kids will definitely have so much fun.
We had to have our air conditioner replaced this last week - and we are not having a good experience with the service people we hired to do it. The have really messed the whole thing up, and I'm not happy at all. So, I talked to my attorney and I have some rights I plan to use. So pray for us and this whole situation. On top of their cruddy work, they stole my husband's ipod that I just got him for father's day. Now that really upset me. I'm so mad about all of it, I'm amazed there's no smoke coming out of my ears. hahaha
Well, I better get back to work. Have a great weekend friends!! Love ya!

Ty's Personalities...
He towers over the kids his age - and even over kids older than him!
Whew the girls will go crazy for him when he's 10!
This was Ty's "mean" face. He posed this one for me. Isn't it adorably mean?? haha
Ty wanted to be a part of the "singing Dunaway" - he was all to comfy up there with mamaw and papoo
Ty has always liked my Kayle, and this year was no different. They played together a lot, and Kayle is just as fond of him as he is of her.
